The Whistler Double Oaked 5 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey, Ireland
A blend of Irish Single Malts and grain Whiskies aged in Bourbon barrels and finished for six months in Sherry casks.
Patrick Cooney knows Irish Spirits. He and his brother Nicholas purchased Gleeson — building the beverage-maker through organic growth and acquisitions to a nine-figure Irish giant. Patrick sold Gleeson in 2012 and has turned the family’s attention toward a new legacy — the Na Cuana beverage company and the Boann Distillery. It’s a true family business with his wife Marie, his daughters Sally-Anne and Celestine, and their sons Peter, Patrick, and James. Thier brands include Adams Ciders, Boyne Brewhouse Craft Beer, Robert A. Murray Irish Cream Liqueurs, and The Whistler Irish Whiskies.
The Whistler Distillers Select Double Oaked is a blend triple-distilled Irish Single Malt and grain Whiskies from across Ireland — each one hand-selected by Michael Walsh, the head distiller at Boann. All of the Spirits were aged in ex-Bourbon casks for a minimum of three years and brought to the Boann facility where they were transferred to Oloroso Sherry casks to marry and finish for six months. The process makes for a mighty good dram with a deep complexity and powerful, classic aroma.
