A clean Asian Rum infused with the essence of fresh-roasted coffee beans.

The original distillery that would become Tanduay was founded in Hagonoy, Philippines, in 1854. Let’s just say that record-keeping in the Philippines was problematic at the time. But we do know that there was a series of mergers and acquisitions and primary distillation was moved to Manila in the early 1900s and the grandchildren of the original known managers reacquired the distillery and brand through their Elizalde & Company, Inc. The business continued to flourish, becoming a beloved producer of Rums and other Spirits in the Philippines. The mammoth LT Group purchased the entire operation in 1988, which still produces some of the most popular Spirits in Southeast Asia.

Boracay Cappuccino is a sweetened, flavored White Rum with an ABV of 25%. But it’s clear, with infusions of roasted coffee beans and creamy on the palate. So, perhaps the best way to think about it is as a Liqueur or Aperitif — what Cointreau does for oranges, Boracay Cappuccino does for the coffee set. And even though it sips quite well neat, it shines as a cocktail-maker. Imagine the possibilities of a coffee-infused Cuba Libré, an Espresso Mojito, or even a Cappuccino Daiquiri. The possibilities are endless.

Smartass Corner:
Boracay Island is a small resort island in the middle of the Philippines with clear tropical waters, white sand beaches, and a popular coral reef. Naming a line of Rum beverages after this idyllic location seems right.
