Smooth Ambler Old Scout 10 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey, USA
The smooth passion.
Born in 2008 from a TIME Magazine piece about the rise of craft Spirits, Smooth Ambler was a passion project created by Tag Galyean and John Little. Based proudly in Greenbrier Valley of West Virginia, along with the Appalachian mountain range, these Americans take their distilling very seriously. Using state of the art equipment and only the finest of natural, locally sourced ingredients, the Smooth Ambler product is nothing to be balked at.
Smooth Ambler Spirits is a 5,200 square-foot warehouse right on the outskirts of Greenbrier County. The facility boasts a 500-gallon Christian Carl copper-pot still imported from Germany. That's a lot of fire-power.
Smooth Ambler Old Scout 10 Year Old Bourbon is 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% malted barley, which gives this Bourbon a spicy kick. Aged for at least ten years in new, American oak casks, it’s cut to proof with pure mountain spring water that's filtered through Mississippian geologic-era limestone. The result is a mineral, earthy Bourbon, balanced by hints of sweet, roasted corn, vanilla, and oak.
