The classic Bushmills blend of Single Malt and Single Grain Irish Whiskey aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks.
Bushmills is one of the most popular and enduring Irish Whiskies. Hugh Anderson registered the company in 1784 in the town of Bushmills and — after a few fits and starts — they have been in continuous operation and growing since 1885. Jose Cuervo purchased the Old Bushmills Distillery from Diageo in 2014, but those corporate blokes know to stay out of the way of Irishman crafting their Whiskey. Bushmills currently has seven Whiskies in their core line-up in addition to special editions and releases.
We like this Bushmills… we like it a lot. Bushmills Red Bush Irish Whiskey is focused on a pure, old-school expression. It’s the kind of Irish Whiskey that we imagine our granddad sipped. Make no mistake, the barrel combinations of their main line black and white label varieties are very nice and we’d be happy to sip a dram or two. But Red Bush is simple and straight-forward. It’s their classic blend of triple-distilled Irish Single Malt and Single Grain Spirits aged four years in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. That’s it. No messing around. Just full-flavored Irish bliss.
