Banks Five Island Rum
Banks Five Island Rum
It's crystal clear, but don't let it deceive you.
They've done the research and they've scoured the globe for the most exceptional Rums. Not unlike the brand's namesake Sir Joseph Banks, the botanist who joined the great explorer James Cook on his first great voyage in the 18th century. Banks blended Rums are a labor of love and a tribute to the Spirit of discovery.
The 5 Island Blend takes the example of 1920s classic Rum then just goes bonkers with blending. Here are the numbers: 21 Rums from 6 distilleries, hailing from 5 different islands. Each liquid plays a vital part in Master Blender Arnaud de Trabuc's recipe that's been created with additional input from New York mixologist Jim Meehan. Trinidad is at its core, Jamaican pot-still Rums are there for aroma, Guyana brings earthy and fruity notes, Barbados adds some citrus, and Java sprinkles some beautiful spice over the lot. The Spirits have been aged between 3 and 12 years, then filtered to remove the color.
