Avua Cachaca Copan, Brazil
Avua Cachaca Copan, Brazil
It’s definitely time for some limited, artisanal Cachaça.
Do you know about Cachaça? Well, did you know that it’s actually older than Rum? With almost five hundred years of history, it brings together the three great trends in Brazilian culture: Indian, African, and Portuguese. Distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, this tasty Spirit can be made in any part of Brazil. There are two types of Cachaça, industrial and artisanal. The first one could be compared to smething like a cheap Vodka. Artisanal Cachaca, on the other hand, is for the connoisseurs. Avuá Cachaça is the leading artisanal, single-sourced Cachaça brand that’s located in the hills of Carmo near Rio de Janeiro. Their single-estate sugarcane fields and a small, family-owned farm produce some of the best artisanal Cachaça. They have one of Brazil’s top female distillers who uses a family recipe that’s been honored over three generations
Avuá Copan Cachaça is made with Craig Schoettler of MGM Resorts, and the venerable makers of Hardy Cognac. Each hand-crafted bottle is matured for up to 2 years in rare tapinhoā barrels and then finished in Hardy Cognac casks for 6 months. This unique combination of rare native wood and a Cognac finish brings you a complex aroma and flavor profile. This is a super limited edition that will not be reproduced.
