Andalusia Whiskey Co. Stryker Smoked Single Malt Whiskey, Texas, USA
A big, smoky Whiskey from Texas.
This Whiskey story starts with good old Beer. Tommy Erwin and Ty Phelps were working at Real Ale Brewing Company when they met and immediately became friends. Tommy ran the lab as the microbiologist and Ty was a lead brewer, so eventually the pair opened their own place. Not a brewing company, though, a Whiskey distillery. Why Andalusia in Texas, you might ask? The two friends came across some old papers concerning the land where we were building and apparently, it was once called Andalusia Ranches. It made sense: the rolling hills of the Texas Hill Country are not that much different than the southern region of Spain.
Andalusia Stryker Smoked Single Malt Whiskey is a smoky Whisky that hails from the Texas Hill Country. Instead of using peat, the malted barley is treated like brisket. It’s soaked in oak, applewood, and mesquite smoke. This big and bold Texas Whiskey greets with a caramel nose that leads to a flavorful palate, packed with flavors of Irish breakfast tea, pine, vanilla and caramel. The second sip reveals some solid hardwood smoke and mineral notes. A true Texan beauty.
