Chivas Regal Extra Blended Scotch Whisky, Scotland
Chivas Regal Extra Blended Scotch Whisky, Scotland
It’s the Chivas you love with “Extra” — extra age and extra good.
Chivas Regal was born in the Strathisla Distillery — the oldest continuously operating distillery in Scotland—founded in 1786. The Chivas Brothers — purveyors of gourmet foods and liqueurs since 1801—received a royal warrant to supply fine Scotch Whisky to Queen Victoria at Balmoral Castle in 1843. Thus the “Regal” in the name. No pressure, right? Recognizing that they would need a consistent supply of very high quality malt Whisky, they decided to take charge and blend it themselves, and Strathisla was their primary source. Today, Chivas Regal is one the most popular Scotch Whisky brands in the world, producing a range of Whiskies for a world-wide audience.
The core Chivas Regal product is a blend of Scottish Whiskies aged at least twelve years. Chivas Regal Extra Scotch Whisky bends this winning formula toward a collection of older single malts aged in Spanish Sherry casks. That means you get all of the flavor and complexity of the main-line Chivas Regal, but with more smoothness, fewer savory notes, and a greater emphasis on richness and dried fruits. We think that Queen Victoria would be very happy with the results.
